HERA - Humanities in the European Research Area

There is a new European funding opportunity for the Humanities! The HERA Joint Research Programme "Cultural Encounters" has been equipped with a budget of 18 Million €. It was published in Febuary 2012 and is especially designed for researchers in the field of the Humanities. Socio-economic disciplines may also participate, as long as the main focus of research lies on the Humanities.

New and interesting projects joining together at least three different partners from the HERA- member states will be funded under the topic "Cultural Encounters".

The HERA-member states are:
Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finnland, Ireland, Iceland, Kroatia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Slowenia and the United Kingdom.

The call has been designed for researchers from post-doc level onwards, who are employed at a university or research facility. Individual or independant proposals will not be funded.

Deadline for the submission of outline proposals was 04 May 2012 (14:00 CET)! The outline proposals will be evaluated during the next months. Applicants will be informed from mid July 2012 on if they are chosen to submit a full proposal.

HERA Matchmaking Event "Cultural Encounters": Presentations and list of participants available
The presentations at the HERA Matchmaking Event "Cultural Encounters" on 21st February 2012 in Berlin included the participation rules for the call open until 04 May 2012. Furthermore, two successful project leaders of the first HERA Call showed, how they designed their projects and shared their experiences. The presentations are now available online.
Additionally the "list of participants" of the HERA Matchmaking Event is available - including the project ideas.
