NET4SOCIETY

The National Contact Point Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities (SSH NCP) has successfully proposed a project in Theme 8: since 1st January 2008, Angela Schindler-Daniels coordinates the 2,6 Mio. € project  NET4SOCIETY.

NET4SOCIETY, "Trans-national cooperation among National Contact Points for Socio-economic Sciences and the Humanities" (SSH NCPs)", is the first international network of NCPs in the field of SSH.
Partners from over 45 countries with different traditions work together in this project, exchanging knowledge and experience, giving it to researchers and thus anchoring the success of SSH in FP7 further.

NET4SOCIETY supports researchers and stakeholders in the field of SSH in collaboration with the European Commission with the following activities:
- establishment of a cross-country research directory
- annual matchmaking events as a means of support for the search of partners in FP7-SSH-Calls
- annual synopsis of the topics of all work programmes on SSH-relevant themes in all four Specific Programmes ("Opportunities for researchers throughout FP7")
- Publication of all partner searches in FP7-SSH-Calls
- European calendar of events within SSH context
- Overview over relevant links and information of the European Commission
- Designed education and training measures for all NCPs in order to assure a constantly high level of consultation for researchers
- Linking with other networks in other FP7 themes.

Further information is available on the website of NET4SOCIETY.
Questions concerning the network will be answered by Nina Berweger, Christina Bitterberg or Judith Krümke at any time.

What does Social Innovation mean today? How can research sustain Social Innovation?  What can the Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities contribute? These are some of the topics which will be discussed during the International Scientific Conference “Challenge Social Innovation - Innovating innovation by research – 100 years after Schumpeter” and during the NET4SOCIETY FP7 brokerage event.

A series of sessions will take place over three days, moving from policy discussion and debate to networking and FP7 engagement.

There will be key-note speeches by renowned researchers and practitioners in the field, and a focused networking opportunity providing information on the upcoming call for proposals FP7-SSH-2012, which will be launched in summer 2011. SSH researchers and stakeholders (universities, research institutions, civil society organizations and SMEs) will have the opportunity to meet both potential coordinators and potential project partners in a structured networking environment.
