SSH in environmental research

In FP7 (2007-2013) "Environment (incl. climate change)" is one of the themes within the Specific Programme "Cooperation".

The "Environment"-theme is divided into Activities and Sub-Activities. Orientation on politics and international cooperation are integral parts in the area of environmental research.
SSH- researchers will find opportunities to participate especially in the Sub-Activity 6.4.2 "Forecasting methods and assessment tools for sustainable development".

Sub-Activity 6.4.2 is about:
- the improvement of assessment tools for sustainable development
- the assessment of instruments in the field of environment
- a better understanding of interactions between socio-economic and ecological systems
- the interpretation of research results for politicians and society

Additionally, socio-economic aspects can be foud in numerous other areas within the "Enviroment" theme - but also Theme 8 "Socio-economic sciences and Humanities" offers opportunities for environment-researchers in Activity 8.2 "Combining economic, social and environmental objectives in a European perspective".
